Merry Christmas!
I received an email recently with a pretty cool list of possible gifts for Christmas. Here are five:
1. How about gift certificates from your local hair salon or barber?
2. A Gym membership?
3. Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed?
4. Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or games at the local golf course.
5. Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning person for a day.
The darkness of this world surrounds us. Greed and selfishness have stirred acts of violence never before experienced as people push and shove to grab the “stuff” on a shelf. All of this, for the purpose of gift giving!
I think it would be a good idea to remind you of a previous writing of mine:
Find a quiet place to reflect on the many blessings God has sent your way. Share your faith. Commit yourself to serving the Lord in and through this great family of faith. Give somebody a hug. Smile more. Laugh a lot. Love one another.
My hope for each of you this Christmas season is that you experience the true gifts of Christmas as described by Dr. O.P. Kretzman:
Faith, Peace, New Life and Love; gifts always given to the heart.
